The 15th annual Honda Battle of the Bands (HBOB) showcase will be here before we know it. Can you believe it? And it’s shaping up to be one of the best ones yet. Held on Jan. 28, 2017, the showcase’s goal is to spotlight the country’s top marching bands from the nation’s historically black colleges and universities.
Eight groups will display their prized musicianship at the Georgia Dome. This year’s theme is “Celebrate the History, Create the Future” because Honda wants to encourage participants to reflect on the history of HBOB and the role historically black colleges and universities have played throughout the years in defining the notion of what’s possible. The major automotive brand also wants students to think about what they can accomplish in the future—on and off the field, whether it has to do with music or otherwise. The sky is the limit.
